Ocean Education at SEA

An educational experience for undergraduate students interested in studying abroad.  A semester at SEA provides the unique opportunity to study the ocean.

ocean education: scientific deployment

We believe that ocean education is a crucial step in protecting our oceans.

With a vision to provide education focused on enhancing the knowledge of the state of oceans and coastal communities, SEA undergraduates participating in a semester program can expect the following:

Immersive experience into a research community dedicated to the understanding of marine and maritime environments.

Interdisciplinary approach welcoming students from all majors to explore ocean and marine related issues.

Collaborative learning environment from internationally recognized leaders in ocean research.

From climate change and plastic pollution to issues of governance on the high seas, SEA’s ocean education focuses on topics such as oceanography, conservation, sustainability, and the human impact on ecosystems.

“SEA has been completely life changing experience for me. It brought me out of my comfort zone, taught me so much about myself and the ocean.”-Siobhan M. B.S. Biology, University of North Carolina
