Description of location
At anchor off of Key West
Greetings from the SSV Corwith Cramer! We are currently at anchor off Key West, Florida. Class number C-303 has joined the ship for the research cruise of the “Marine Biodiversity and Conservation” semester program (MBC).
All of the students are doing well and getting adjusted to life onboard. We will spend the next two days in port so our students can receive a thorough orientation to the vessel and shipboard operations. Once all of the necessary training is completed, we plan to raise anchor and put to sea on Saturday April 9th. The ship’s initial cruise track will take us up the Straits of Florida and then into the Southeast North Atlantic Ocean. Thanks for following our daily blog as we begin this exciting voyage and research expedition through the Sargasso Sea.
