Happy Father’s Day

June 20, 2024

Author: Michela Bracci, Boston University

This morning we all split up to do some different things. Most of the crew went hiking to a
waterfall, while a few of us stayed back to kayak and swim at Gump Station. Daryl and I saw an
eel while snorkeling and promptly retreated. Then we all had lunch together and relaxed until
afternoon classes. After some class discussions about Marine Protected Areas, we had
presentations for our Anthropocene project. Casey, Nena, and I presented on problems facing
fisheries, like overfishing and the impacts of other human activities. Afterwards we played a big
game of volleyball to practice for our future match on Palmerston Island.
