I don't think I've ever wanted to deep clean a toilet bowl more in my life. Now don't get me wrong- I really have no desire to do that specific task. BUT that task would mean it is Field Day and on Field Day we get to play music.
No one really talks about how we don't listen to music while we're underway. Sure, we can play music and sing, but once you've sung a song's chorus (because you can't remember any other words) 400 bajillion times, those songs don't seem so appealing anymore. You might even say annoying.
Let me tell you some of the songs that have been going around Seamans. If you don't know 'em you should look them up and imagine having them play in your head for houuuuuurs. The Jurassic Park Theme Song; Super Trooper by Abba; Chili Dog Morning by Johnny Fritz; Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift; Flintstones song, that one song from Grease; Lucca the Pug song; Cotton Eye Joe; the Swimming Song; Down to the River; 5000 Miles by the Pretenders(?). Of course now that I'm trying to think of any, my mind is empty of tunes.
Naturally, I, along with most of the rest of the ship's company, are quite excited for some new lyrics and tunes to fill our minds during those long hours at lookout.
