It’s been an exciting day here on the Corwith Cramer! This afternoon, the faculty and staff received 20 smiling students to their new home for the next six weeks. It was a typical day here in San Juan, PR, with bright sunny skies dotted with passing cumulus clouds, some darker than others, and some with a little rain in them. The constant trade winds keep the temperatures down to a mostly pleasant level (at least in the shade).
After some introductions, the afternoon was filled with orientations as the crew introduced the students to the particulars of the ship, with a delicious snack and dinner in between events. There was a random fireworks show during the evening rotation which was a delightful distraction! The excitement and energy amongst the new crew is tangible. Tomorrow will bring a walking tour of Old San Juan to do some research for their academic work and then more information about living on the ship.
Until then, they will unpack and get settled in to their bunks and hopefully enjoy a full night’s rest!
