Research Areas & Interests:
A licensed captain since 1983, Captain Burke has sailed aboard numerous sail training and educational vessels in North America, Europe and the South Pacific, in addition to commercial work aboard tankers, tugs, and cargo vessels. He holds a USCG license as Master 1600 tons oceans and Chief Mate unlimited oceans, both endorsed for sailing vessels. When not at sea, Captain Burke works as a Senior Staff Instructor at the New Hampshire Fire Academy specializing in technical rescue training.
