Teaching Philosophy
I value creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment where we learn from a diversity of perspectives including each other. In addition to teaching, I prioritize helping student advance their careers through demystifying the ‘hidden curriculum,’ exposing students to variety of oceanography careers, helping students network, and mentoring students as they develop skills that are applicable across careers. My role as a teacher is to help students achieve their learning goals, grow as scientists and leaders by fostering a community where we all support one another and by mentoring students individually, and develop sense of love and stewardship for our ocean (and coral reefs!).

Personal Interests
I love going on nature walks/hikes, exploring coastlines (especially tidepools and coral reefs!), and researching family genealogy and history.
