Hot and aromatic galley, smells like burgers
Hello readers, I am Lauren the ship’s cook.
Today was excitingly eventful; we struck the mains’l for the first time on this trip. That big sail has been up for two weeks straight! The morning watch and other able hands who weren’t napping struck the sail and furled it, which you can see in action in one of the pictures.

Once the sail was furled, they set the storm trys’l, a much smaller piece of canvas and another first for this trip. It was fun to see so many people on deck sail handling together and being very competent. I don’t have much else to tell you about except that Nathan, Caleb and I hand rolled 48 burger buns for dinner and had a very pleasant time chatting and meditatively forming dough.
On Sundays we don’t have class, we have a few hours off for recreation and rest in the afternoon. Earlier in the week we had talked about the fun activities we would do on Sunday but when it came to it, most of the boat decided to nap instead which I think will serve us well.
