Never Say Never- Expect the Unexpected

Wednesday to Thursday, 8 to 9 July 2026

Do it again-would be something that you would hear me say, which seems weird but oddly true. These past few days have been a whirlwind, filled with tons of memories and new hourly science report. We started the day with breakfast- bacon, egg, and cheese- and a morning cup of tea with a splash of milk and about two spoonfuls of honey. Considering the weather a cup of tea was like a warm hug; nice, refreshing, and satisfying. Before having to endure yet another 6 hour shift…however, being with Sydney made it possible. As of yesterday and today, it is still pouring rain outside. We have traveled long and far and we have finally anchored in the peak of Cape Cod (Provincetown). But before anchoring we got busy in the lab!! Justin, Amaru, Nico, and I got to be with Sydney for the day, in which we did lots of deployments, such as secchi disk, Neuston net, phytoplankton net, and so much more!!

Hello its us again (Yas and Amaru) — the line race got us so tired we went right to bed without finishing the blog… but anywaysss we back!! Today was so much fun! We came so close to winning the Line Chase.  It was crazy how intense that game was. But they can’t keep B-watch down, so we will have the biggest academic comeback ever…or just a comeback at this point. A-watch has been doing a little too good these past few days but they for sure need it. The amount of times they have been up doing a 6 hour shift is insane. But it’s okay they are vibing with it now. But B-watch will always be best.

The line chase was fun just wished we didn’t have to do it while it was pouring rain outside. My last pair of pants were SOAKING WET that was so sad, but I pushed through. Amaru was vibing with the rain. His rain boats helped to keep him somewhat dry. After the Line Chase, Ava and Jeremy baked us some cookies to eat. All their food is so bomb and delicious we are so grateful. But after that followed a 6 hour shift which thankfully was cut short by an anchor watch. Today was such a busy day but we are so excited to see what awaits for us these last few days. Can’t believe its coming to an end. Hope to see you guys soon. Yas and Amaru signing off.
