Hello blog!!! Today was our third day at sea. Earlier in the day, we saw some whales! During our dawn watch, we processed big buckets of krill and other critters; they were bioluminescent. It was pretty cool!! We looked through the buckets of krill and did a 100 count (counting and examining a small sample from the buckets). Most of it was Euphausids (aka krill), but there were some copepods too! After we processed the buckets we had tea time. Tea time was pretty nice we watched the stars and had some nice conversations, still no green flash… I wonder if we’ll actually see it. 

We’re writing the blog right now?! Right now there are some nice pink clouds in the sunrise. Ginger chews have officially been rationed. According to Sam, we went through two bags of ginger chews yesterday after being warned of our limited supplies. Even though it was our third day at sea, many people still got very seasick.

2:30 – 3:30PM: class, learned about stratification and other oceanographic concepts
3:30-7:00PM: B watch enjoyed free time with friends (or slept)
7:00PM: dinner
7:30PM-10PM: B watch goes to bed
1:00AM: B watch wakes up
2:00 AM: examined and processed buckets of krill
4:00AM: tea time!
5:00AM: jibed sails
6:00AM: wrote very informal blog
7:00AM(future): finished shift
