A Trip to Oak Bluffs, MV

Pre-College Marine Bio
August 9th, 2026
Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard, MA
Today was such an amazing day!! As a group, we all set off to Martha’s Vineyard (MV) on the ferry early in the morning. We docked at Oak Bluffs, a cute, very busy town which is clearly a hub for tourists. We all split off into groups determined to find some fun and food! Many people went shopping in stores such as Vineyard Vines, Island Outfitters, Soft as a Grape, and The Black Dog for some MV merch! There was truly so much to do. As instructed, we took selfies of ourselves every hour on the dot to ensure our PA’s that we were safe and sound. We spent our time riding the carousel, swimming at the beaches (Oak Bluffs and Inkwell), browsing for more MV souvenirs, grabbing some very cold ice cream, and having some really good lunches! But do not worry, we were able to identify some marine life while in the ocean and on the ferry dock! We found some HUGE striped bass hunting for small crabs, mole crabs that tried to pinch us, and little minnows! At the beaches, many of us were startled by these little fish, which snuck up on us and believed our toes to be their snack. Finally, as the day came to an end, we all reunited at the ferry dock and boarded the boat back to Woods Hole! The fun didn’t stop there, for when we returned to the SEA campus we enjoyed some homemade pizza! Thats all for now so see you next time!
