Hey fam 😉 Love from Charlotte, AJ, and Sky! The day doesn’t start until C Watch takes the helm at 0700. Super nice morning, pretty crispy chilly weather with more fog than you have ever seen; you wouldn’t be able to see if you were out there.

In class we learned how to use sextants to measure the distance from the sun to the horizon and to “shoot” stars, which helps sailors navigate. After class we had some free time to practice for the Line Chase, we are trying to learn all/ mostly all the lines on the ship that are used for sail handling and science.

Owen seems very interested in the lab sample

Later, we played some group card games and it was time for an amazing dinner that Channieng prepared. For dawn watch, we saw several 2cm+ Nektons including a super lobster. We did everything efficiently, so the tea-time is going to be nice and long.
