Welcome to Pacific Reef Expedition (PRX) - cruise S-280 onboard the SSV Robert C. Seamans!
Today we welcomed onboard our new shipmates - 21 students from across the United States and from around the world. Everyone's excitement is palpable as they begin their life aboard the SSV Robert C. Seamans.

Mikaela and Riley take selfies with avocados as big as their head!
Here at the Quai des Paquebots, we are surrounded by the smell of fresh Tiare flowers and are within sight of soaring green tropical peaks as well as the beautiful tropical blue water.
The strong Easterly Trade Wind breeze of midday has diminished to a comfortable light breeze here at the dock. Our fresh produce has arrived and is in the process of drying and storing it for the weeks ahead.
This day is the beginning of understanding shipboard safety and final preparations. We plan to sail to Mo'orea tomorrow (Thursday)
Cheers
