Hi Blog Readers!
Today we had a super fun day off where we took a ferry over to Martha’s Vineyard. Before we headed off to the ferry some of my lovely roommates cooked everyone some scrambled eggs and various types of bacon for breakfast ( I overslept and forgot to wake up to help..) because our room was on steward (cooking) duty for the day. When we arrived at the ferry we had a chaotic start with having to switch boats when we were trying to load up and ended up waiting in line for an hour! But it ended up ok cause the boat ride over was smooth and I got a cookie on board with a friend and we all sat and chatted together.
When we all arrived on Martha’s Vineyard around 2 o’clock we all split up into various groups and headed off to find some lunch and to wander the town of Oaks Bluffs. My group went to a lovely cafe (Mocha Motts) and a yummy sandwich shop called TigerHawks. After filling our bellies we split into smaller groups of 4 and explored the shops and the town. My group went into various cute boutiques where we all bought some stuff and then got some ice cream from an ice cream shop that was right next to our sandwich spot. When we finished up our tour of the town and met back at the dock around 4:45 we all loaded back on to the ferry. Once we were back on the ferry we recounted on our various explorations of different parts of the town. Some of our friends went exploring to some beaches and small marshes and found some cool shells! When we got back to campus my roommates and I began to cook everyone a simple yet very yummy dinner of spaghetti and meatballs, and once we all finished up our dinners we met back up together in the map room in the main academic building on campus for a fun movie night where we all watched Moana! It was a super fun day and I look forward to tomorrow where we will be exploring more towns and hanging out on the beach! Thanks for reading, have a lovely day!
