Bring Me That Horizon

August 7, 2025
[B] Behold! My dream of standing at the helm has at last come true—
A call from the first mate, as I grinned at the endless blue.
[R] Rough waves battered the ship, our stomachs tossed and spun—
Last night’s grub met the leeward side before the day was done.
[I] Images of iced lattes, each day just a dream—
With clouds like whipped cream swirling atop the gleam.
[N] Nothing escapes our sight, with watches A, B, and C alert—
Calling out sea creatures with glee, “this surely beats digging in dirt!”
[G] Ground beneath our feet at last, though land was fleeting in view—
It vanished as quickly as it came, with only small boats passing through.
[M] Maelstroms haunted our thoughts, as Captain Becca spoke of the past—
Tales of tempests and thunderous seas, till tsunami warnings came at last.
[E] Even as families panicked with coastal sirens filling the night—
The crew lay sleeping soundly, blankets pulled in tight.
[T] Teachings from Heather of the ocean’s hidden keep—
Awoke as carousels surfaced, far from the sea’s deep.
[H] “Hold fast!” shouted Skyler, with joy in his frame—
Guiding us carefully to bring every sail to tame.
[A] Adventurous as ever, Seth trained on deck—
Breaking limits with workouts that left muscles a wreck.
[T] Tumultuous Tyler, down in the engine’s roar—
Always offering wisdom, with tips to explore.
[H] Hauling day in and out, hands blistered and sore—
Yet Sydney, our medic, healed us without asking for more.
[O] Oh, how long it’s been, weeks drifting far from shore—
Restless shipmates sprawled on deck, weary from every chore.
[R] Rambunctious as ever, I lifted the crew with a jest—
More often than not, my humor brought a roaring rest.
[I] Informative and wondrous, life aboard the Bobby C. Seamans—
Leaves one to ponder what awaits when we’re once again free men.
[Z] Zenith peaks of ancient volcanic Hawaii rise bold from the mist—
The Koolau range of Oahu, a sight not to be missed!
[O] Oahu, our island, the place we call home—
At last we return from the seas where we’ve roamed.
[N] Nothing feels the same when the long voyage is through—
The seas have their secrets, and now I hold a few;
Yet the call of the waves will forever keep risin’,
So raise the sails high, and bring me that horizon.
