Falmouth Finds and Friendly Competition

June 28, 2025
Hi everyone!
We had a quiet morning after staying up late watching a movie, and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. Dane the food guy calls breakfast ‘FEND’ where everyone fends for themselves and makes their own simple or complicated dish.
The main activity for today was a trip to Falmouth Center, where we walked around the cute town, balancing our studies with fun. Our weekends have shifted to Friday and Saturday, so we enjoyed a chill cloudy day to rest up after our adventures in Martha’s Vineyard yesterday.
We explored a variety of stories in Falmouth Center. One of the highlights was Maison Villatte, a well-known (and busy) French bakery which sells pastries, sandwiches and bread. We also checked out several clothing stores, like Cape Cod Sweat & Tee Outlet. Another favorite was Soft As A Grape, a local Cape Cod chain selling sweatshirts, pants, and more.
As part of our free time many of us went to the library to research potential topics for our final project. Our final project consists of coming up with a scientific question and later presenting our research project through a poster with our data and conclusions on it. Our project officially starts Sunday, but some of us got a head start on the research while at the library.
After returning from Falmouth Center we had a break for lunch and a nap. Then, our afternoon activity consisted of an intense game of trivia. We separated into 3 teams based on rooms, and the prize was picking the movie for the night. The trivia topics were Food, History, Science, TV Shows, and Animals. It was very competitive, with Room 1 winning, and choosing to watch Mama Mia.
Overall, today was full of both fun and rest, and we can’t wait to cozy up and sing along to some classic ABBA songs in Mama Mia. Tomorrow we go back to class, and we can’t wait to start our research project!!
