From Plate Tectonics to Poke Bowls

July 2, 2025
Hi everyone!
It’s been another fantastic day at SEA! We started the day bright and early with some Alejandro blasted as our wake up song. We had an enlightening morning with an hour-long lesson from Professor Greg about plate tectonics, sediments, and the complexity of our changing ocean climate. Following this, we broke up into our research groups and got to investigate and analyze different data sets.
After a scrumptious lunch of fried rice and veggies with hummus, we split into two sections. The first group stayed behind to further their analysis for their project while the second group ventured out into the field to return to the Little Sippewissett Salt Marsh. There we collected data samples in our respective research groups on topics ranging from pH to plastics. We then reconvened to go over the plan for tomorrow’s activities.
After the work day was over, we headed over to the Knob Beach to pick seashells and soak up the sun! We finished up the day with salmon and tofu poke bowls for dinner while enjoying the sunset.
Looking forward to the next day,
Arjun and Ali
