Ship’s Log
Sunday, July, 21st, 2024
Position (Lat and Long): 40° 49.0’ N x 070° 40.0’ W
Log (nm): 509.1
Weather / Wind and Sail Plan: Sunny with some clouds/ Light winds heading
northwest near Martha’s Vineyard
Description of where we are sailing: Currently sailing in the continental
shelf, 12 miles southwest of the Vineyard Wind
A-watch started early today with our last dawn watch of the trip, where it
rained a bit, but it was pretty fun overall. We then competed in the pin
chase, where all three watches competed against each other to see which
watch knew the most lines on the ship. This session, B-watch took the win!
In lab, C-watch did analyzed sediment from a shipek grab. Caitlin, Ada, and
Jeff were the Sediment Squad and they did mud masks together. Finally,
almost everybody on the boat went ahead and watched the sunset together.
