Today we left the dock finallyyy!!!!!!! It took a long time because we had to do a million emergency drills like man overboard and such but then we finally blew the horn and left the dock. We went through the vineyard sound so we have stayed pretty close to land. I have learned that night watch is rough but the food here is really good especially the lunch we had today. Also, the sunset today was really really pretty but the sun didn’t do a green flash, oh no. The water looked very velvety and soft and the sky was pink and blue and grey so it was really pretty but we were all on watch and cleaning the kitchen so we couldn’t really watch it.

After a very thorough morning of emergency drill procedures we finally left Dyer’s Dock! We left on motor and managed to get some sails up in the afternoon. We all are getting accustomed to the motion of the ship and continue to learn more about life onboard the Cramer. Our watch schedules have been implemented and everyone has helped out with Boat Checks, Anchor Checks, and Science Checks. When not on watch duty, it’s nice to catch a few hours of sleep, have some of the delicious galley food, read a book, or just enjoy the view from the deck.
