Jackie and Audrey here! We wanted to take the time for you, our followers, to get to know us, the stewards (chefs) onboard Mama Cramer. We will start with our interview session and then give you a run down on what we cooked today and a recipe for you to try at home.

THE INTERVIEW:
Any siblings?
Jackie: A younger brother. Hey, Jimmy!
Audrey: An older brother. Hey, Tony!
Where did you go to school?
J: Graduated from Kenyon College with a major in Environmental Studies and a minor in Biology.
A: Brevard College with a major in Environmental Science and Math.
Musical talent?
J: Plays the flute but wishes she could play the guitar.
A: Zero. Loves singin’ though.
A song you wish you could hear right now?
J: The new Maggie Rogers song because she forgot to listen to it before we left port.
A: Huckleberry Love by Caamp.
1st thing you learned to cook?
J: Her Grandma taught her to make cheesy scrambled eggs but now she can’t eat either – lactose intolerant and egg intolerant. Tough luck.
A: Prolly a box of mac n’ cheese. The Kraft kind. Audrey loves her dairy.
Assistant Scientist Matt and Deckhand Reba support Galley Watch by dumping slops.
Favorite movie genre?
J: Rom-Com but drop the com.
A: Comedy!
What are you currently reading?
J: The new Sally Rooney book┘ but she doesn’t know how she feels about it.
A: Home Cookin’
What can’t you live without on board?
J: Portable lantern for cozy lighting and lots of wools socks.
A: Toothbrush, headlamp, lotion, journal, and a good book.
If you could have any two liquids shoot out of your finger guns what would they be?
J: Dirty iced chai with oat milk (left) and cooking oil (right).
A: Coffee (left) and milk (right).
TODAY’S EATS:
Breakfast: Smoothie bowls with yogurt, granola, and kiwis.
Morning Snack: Banana cardamom bread pudding
Lunch: Mediterranean salad bowls with toppings (pickled onions, olives, feta, hummus, roasted chickpeas, tzatziki, taboulleh).
Afternoon Snack: Charcuterie board
Dinner: Shepherd’s pie with salad and honey focaccia
Mid-Rats: Lemon poppy seed muffins
Jackie’s Tzatziki Recipe:
*Endorsed by 1st Scientist, whose family is Greek: It’s as good as my mom’s!
2-3 cucumbers, grated and water squeezed out
4 cups Greek yogurt’
1/3 cup olive oil
Cup fresh dill
Splash of lemon juice (to taste)
2-4 cloves garlic, minced
Salt to taste
