Souls on Board

Hi readers! Today was an eventful day aboard the Cramer. We started off with some science deployments in the rain (yay science!) and several crew members participated in changing the main engine oil. An interesting change today was Staff in the Galley day, so we got the galley hanging out and lending a hand with us on deck while staff rotated through trying their hands out in the kitchen. There were tasty muffins, nachos, chili, and pasta galore!

Supi, Ashley, Bella, and Marin at the SSVCC

After morning watch, Marin and I got to give Supi a haircut. The Cramer Barber Shop is open for business! You’re in good hands with our talented and questionably licensed stylists. Don’t let the waves keep you from rocking a sweet flow.

The students are hard at work finishing up some creature illustrations for class, but that doesn’t keep us from looking out for the ship. Thane, Kayla, and I used the afternoon to work on repairing the jib tops’l using some barge cement and sail pieces to make boat bandaids. While we were working up in the headrig, shenanigans ensued with a little swallow that landed on deck. Emmi valiantly defended the fo’c’sle from a new bird resident, and Maggie had a Disney princess moment with the bird landing to listen to her guitar music.

The day concluded with a Shrekquet (Shrek-themed banquet) that involved getting dressed up in all green, wearing Shrek masks, and eating green food. The tables were beautifully decorated with onions, and we were serenaded by three blind mice singing classics from the movie. The main salon was filled with laughter, sing-alongs, and green as far as the eye can see.

P.S. To my family back home, I love you, miss you, and I’ll see you soon!! To Hailey, thinking of you always, and I can’t wait to see you when I get back! Sending all the belly rubs to Pluto, Evie, Leo, and Hope!
