Description of location
Perseverance Bay, St. Thomas, USVI
We journeyed forth upon the sea,
Our eager crew in watches three:
To sail the waves, to tow for sci,
To plumb the depths, and watch the sky.
A week we sailed, and now we’ve found
Our happy ship is landward bound:
Our newest task is to explore
The reef along the island shore!
We’ll swim and sample, snorkeling down;
A week near land where fish abound.
Then with our data we’ll leave shore,
Returning to the sea once more.
Such excitement in the air –
Swim call? I’ll see you there!
[Aida Morgan-Russell, 3rd Mate, C Watch]
P.S. Happiest of birthdays to our shipmate Blake!
